The Institute of Physiotherapy, Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya, successfully conducted a Physiotherapy Outreach and Awareness Programme at Shanti Niwas Old Age Home, Nalbari, today, 6 September 2026, in connection with World Physiotherapy Day 2026. The programme focused on creating awareness about the importance of regular exercise, physical activity, mobility, and healthy ageing among the elderly residents. Under the guidance of the I/C, Head of Physiotherapy, and with the coordination of the faculty members, the BPT students interacted warmly with the residents, demonstrated simple and safe exercises, and created awareness about maintaining physical independence and functional mobility. A meaningful short play by the BPT students further highlighted the role of physiotherapy in preventing disability and promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Dr. Apurba Rajbongshi (PT), I/C Head, Physiotherapy, delivered the introductory speech at the beginning of the programme and highlighted the importance of community-based physiotherapy and healthy ageing. Mr. Muzibar Rahman, President of Shanti Niwas, also addressed the gathering and briefly introduced the activities and objectives of Shanti Niwas Old Age Home.
The programme was filled with warmth, compassion, learning, and joyful interaction, making it a memorable and meaningful community-engagement initiative for both the elderly residents and the students. The programme successfully reflected the commitment of the Institute of Physiotherapy towards promoting health, mobility, independence, and quality of life through physiotherapy
